24/7 Child Care
Second Street Learning Center is a non-profit organization licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and voluntarily participates in Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL). Enrollment in the Center is available to children ages 6 weeks up to age 13 years. The learning center goals are to promote healthy growth and development of physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills in the children enrolled in the program. The Learning center has 9 classrooms to allow children structured activities, free play, and educational support. Second Street Learning Centers classrooms are staffed by a highly qualified professional team including Supervisors, Assistants and Aides. In addition, volunteers become involved in the all programs. - Nutritious Meals And Snacks
- Scheduled Indoor Activities - circle time, age-appropriate crafts, and more.
- Outdoor Activities - walks, "Second Street Beech" playground fun, field trips, and more.
- Rest Time - scheduled afternoon naps and restful overnights.
- Transportation - provided during the school year for children attending schools in the Reading School District.
- After School Tutoring - tutors are available to assist school-age children with homework needs.
- Computer Lab - children of all ages have access to computer programs designed to encourage developmental progress as well as basic computer skills.
- On-Site Club Activities - Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, & Chess Club meet here after school,
